Lucy Hale Responds to Backlash After Viral Ian Harding TikTok Is Accused of “Glamorizing” Aria and Ezra From ‘Pretty Little Liars’

@4rayah.sunshine / TikTok Lucy Hale is speaking out amid backlash for posting a viral TikTok of herself and Ian Harding recreating an Aria and Ezra moment from Pretty Little Liars . The backlash in question? Mostly due to people thinking she was glamorizing Aria and Ezra’s relationship on PLL (reminder: they had a huge age gap and he was her literal high school teacher).

Lucy hopped on Instagram Stories to clarify things, saying “Hello, okay, I just wanted to pop on here really quickly to say that the video I posted earlier of me and Ian, in promotion of our new movie that’s coming out at an undisclosed date really soon, I’m obviously seeing a lot of the comments. I just want to say that two realities can be very true, where it’s very obvious that Aria and Ezra is problematic. Did not age well. That can be very true. While it can also be true that Ian and I were teenagers when we were doing that show. And we were quick friends.”

She ended with, “We have known each other almost 20 years. So the video was actually more about Ian and I’s friendship, not glamorizing anything. So I might delete this, but just wanted to give a little intel.”

The story is no longer on Lucy’s Instagram Story, but @popfaction grabbed it if you want to watch:
